Abdullah Azwar Anas was appointed as the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (MoABR/PAN-RB) of the Republic of Indonesia in 2022. As the Minister of PAN-RB (the organization which is also designated as the Chief Information Officer of the Republic), he is responsible for leading the policies on the machinery of the government and the e-government under the Indonesia Government Enterprise Architecture across government institutions. He is currently in charge of the Presidential priority agenda of thematic bureaucratic reform to reduce poverty, to encourage investment and inclusive economic growth, and to digitalise the government administration.
Before his appointment as Minister of MoABR, Anas was the Head of the National Agency for Public Procurement Policies (LKPP), where he had led the effort to optimize the government procurement system through the “e-Katalog” digital marketplace for government to purchase goods and services. During his time as the Regent of Banyuwangi District (2010-2021), he had introduced the e-Village (smart kampung) program to empower the local economy.
