Gareth Gauadalupe was appointed as the Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and Parlamientary Affairs of the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe in November 2022.
He is co-responsible with the Minister of Justicy and Public Administration for leading the policies on the e-government regarding the process of digitalization of public administration under the slogan “The Public Administration that we need”.
Before his appointment as Minister, he served as Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic and Advisor for Economic and Financial Affairs to the President of the Republic, from October 2021 to November 2022. He was appointed in 2015 as Executive Director and Board Member of the Central Bank, where he served until 2019. He has also served as IMF Expert on Public Financial Management and Macro-fiscal policies by delivering training courses for Afritac South countries from 2015 to 2021. Gareth Guadalupe holds BSc. in Economics from the University Lusofona, Portugal and MSc. in Economic Policy Management from Columbia University, New York, USA.
